As I clicked on one smart album I found it empty of images. Same happened with the majority of my smart albums.
Any idea what happened?
I deleted the first failing album and re-created it from scratch - luckily it worked. But I have a lot of smart albums to re-create.
Any shortcuts?

First thing to check is that you are not in Viewer view with no images selected. Use "v" to cycle through Viewer, Split View, and Browser as a first check that the Smart Albums are empty, which is different from the Viewer being blank.
This is a fault of the UI. There should be an indication that no Images are selected.
Thank you Kirby, that's the first thing I tried of course; but it's not a matter of that. And it's happened to 90% of them.

Is the Smart Album loading?
Is there any information in Aperture's Activity window?
No. None.
Last night I re-created 6-7 of the smart albums from scratch; and it worked. I deleted the failed ones and kept the new ones.
Today the new ones have also failed overnight.
Makes me think it hast to do with the previews (I deleted some of keywords related to some of the failed albums that I won't be needing anymore, and the warning came on that there are a number of images tagged with theses keywords - so the images are there, but the previews are not being created, seems like).
What do you think?
