Q: airdrop is missing from finder and from finder preferences sidebar

I have a late 2012 27inch iMac running Yosemite, I can not find air drop on the finder sidebar and it is not in finder preferences sidebar either. The systems has 3 accounts on it and airdrop is available in finder on the other 2 accounts but it is not in mine. I have tried the terminal command "defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser BrowseAllInterfaces 1" and relaunched finder and I have rebooted numerous times.... please help

    I have the same problem.

    I use macbook pro retina, late 2012!

    I couldn't find airdrop anywhere.. It's not in my finder, neither in the finder preferences.

    The only place I could see is under:

    Apple menu - System Preferences - Extensions - Share Menu;

    Airdrop is pre-checked and uneditable here.

    Elsewhere I couldn't find airdrop!

    I opened a second account and logged in it and to my surprise, I found Airdrop in that account, just like Michael! So Apple and fellow-mac-lovers, I request you all to help me find a solution, please.
