How do I see which number a text was sent to?

I have more than one number stored under some of my contacts. How do I see which number a text was sent to? For some of my friends, I have two phone numbers (one being an old cell phone number that I should've deleted but forgot) and am worried that my texts may sometimes go to the wrong number, even I'm replying in the message chain. How can I tell exactly which number a text went to? Thanks!!

In order to view what number or e-mail address the message was sent to, you can tap on Details at the top right of the message, then the in a circle.

See a person’s contact info. In a conversation, tap Details, then tap . Tap the info items to perform actions, such as making a voice or FaceTime call.
