Why does bothe "Maps" and "Google Maps" showing wrong location of mine?

In my iPhone 6 with iOS 8.3, I'm having a issue of location service. It's not showing actual location of mine. What's the solution to get the usual location? I really need this. Also I'm facing same problem with my iPad too. Both the device showing wrong and same location. This doesn't make sense. Please help me.

I know this is an old question but my daughters phone did it this week.

We did the standard power it off and back on.

Made sure we had the most up to date software.

Made sure location services was on.

Made sure date and time were correct.

So here's what worked.

Settings->General->Reset->Reset Location & Privacy

Hope it helps someone else.

Hello aruncsaha,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

To troubleshoot this issue where devices on your network are reporting incorrect location, I'd like you to please follow the information outlined below. First, reset your location settings, then follow the steps for improving GPS accuracy.

Reset or disable Location Services

Location warnings are the requests that apps (such as Camera, Compass, and Maps as well as location-based third-party apps) make to use Location Services with those apps. An app will ask for permission the first time it needs to access Location Services data. Tapping Allow will give that app permission to use Location Services as needed. Tapping Don't Allow will prevent an app from accessing Location Services data. Apps won't use your location until they have asked for your permission and you grant permission.

If you would like to reset all of your location settings to the factory default, go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Location & Privacy. When your location and privacy settings are reset, apps will stop using your location until you grant them permission.

Improve GPS accuracy 2,4

GPS accuracy varies depending on the number of visible GPS satellites. Locating all visible satellites can take several minutes, with accuracy gradually increasing over time. Use these tips to improve GPS accuracy:

  • Make sure that you've set the date, time, and time zone correctly on the device in Settings > General > Date & Time. If possible, use Set Automatically.
Important: Incorrect settings on your computer can sync to your device. Verify the date, time, and time zone on any computer that syncs with your device.
  • Restart your device.
  • Verify that you have a cellular or Wi-Fi network connection. This allows the Assisted GPS (A-GPS) on the device to locate visible GPS satellites faster, in addition to providing initial location information using the Wi-Fi or cellular networks.
Microcells (sometimes called Femtocells) aren't supported with Location Services.
  • Keep a clear view of the horizon in several directions. Keep in mind that walls, vehicle roofs, tall buildings, mountains, and other obstructions can block line of sight to GPS satellites. When this occurs, your device will automatically use Wi-Fi or cellular networks to determine your position until the GPS satellites are visible again.

Recently I have the same problem. the Location is always miles away when the Wifi is off. I never had that problem with my iPhone 6 and previous iPhones. Whats the point of having the wifi on when there is no Wifi available in the street?

I went to apple store and they replaced my phone. I still have the same problem with the new iPhone. no matter if I use my old backup or use it as a new Phone.

I did reset network too.

My partners iPhone 6 (same iOS version) is always OK. we share the same Network and the same home!

Any iDea?

If the location is off with WiFi off this would indicate an issue with a cell tower in your area.

Go outside where you have clear line of sight for satellites, turn off WiFi, go to maps and have it attempt to locate you. If it goes to the wrong location wait a few minutes for the phone to access 3 satellites. If the location is then correct call your cell provider.
