cannot play an audiobook I purchased on my iPhone 5, iOS 8.3

I purchased an audio book just four days ago. I synch'd it to my iPhone 5, iOS 8.3. Now I cannot play it on iTunes, v 12.1.2.27. I can find the purchase on iTunes, but I can only play it if the iPhone is connected to the iMac. I cannot play it on the iMac from iTunes w/o the iPhone.

Also, i cannot find the audiobook anywhere on the iPhone. Can't see it in search, can't locate it, can't play it back on the iPhone.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
