Can you backspace or delete a word dictated in a text?

I'm trying to backspace or remove a word to edit a text using dictation, but cannot figure out how.

It is not currently possible to backspace or delete a word during dictation on Apple Watch.

If you would like to send feedback or suggestions to Apple, you can do so here:

I was most excited to find that the dictation feature is available on the Apple Watch, and yet I am equally amazed to find that I am unable to delete a word or otherwise edit text; by allowing a user to possibly touch the screen to highlight a word, words or passage and then make edits or deletions would be a giant leap in the right direction.

Allowing dictation via the watch is a great feature which has been severely handicapped by the absence of some very basic functionality. For this reason I find myself turning back to my iPhone to respond to a message simply because it could be more hassle and time consuming if I was to use the watch, and then errors arise with its use!

I agree. It’s so frustrating. Surely the Apple developers themselves have this problem on their own watches. Haha.

I personally would just like the ability to dictate the word “delete” or “backspace” to remove the last word if wrong.

Don’t forget to send feedback using the above link otherwise this won’t be fixed soon.
