Apps gone suddenly - HELP!!!

I used the App Store to "Update ALL" of my apps that needed to be updated. After checking the list, there were three apps that did'n't have the "update" square to the right, but they were still on the list. I clicked the first one (google) manually and it takes me to the store description/reviews etc. I clicked the "update" button there. Now the app is completely gone from my phone. When I go to the app store to try and download again, the square now says "open" - when I click that, nothing happens. This is the case for 3 of my apps, one includes my password keeper app - How do I recover these????
