pc connects to iphone 6, but wont to my 5

im trying to back up my wifes iphone 5, my 6 connected fine, but my pc will only charge the 5, does not recognize in any way, not in device manager etc....

i have restarted both, different usb ports, updated mobile driver, 6 continue to have no issues........5 is invisible to my computer and itunes

itunes up to date and all windows drivers.......
