After using the stationary function in iMail, my normal signatures no longer appear as a choice in the mail viewer window

MacBook Pro running 10.9.5, 2.4 Intel with 8 gB of memory.

I used the stationary function in iMail and now the selection box for signatures no longer appears in the mail viewer window. This has happened before with I use Stationary but it used to reappear if I quit and reopened Mail. Now it is gone, gone, gone. I have to cut and paste different signatures from old emails. Can anyone help with this problem?
