Hi has anyone upgrade to both the new software from Apple? If yes do you encountered any problem? I have the following problem when using the Photos: 1) When I launched Photos, the program can't open my iPhoto Library which is residing in the external hardisk. The External hardisk is Seagate with NTFS installed in both hardest and my Macbook Pro. Can someone help. Thank you.

In my experience, Photos creates its new library in the same location as the iPhoto library and copies the files into its new library. Perhaps it cannot write to the NTFS disk.
You've been fortunate that iPhoto worked off that disk. In fact only very late iPhoto versions checked the disk format. But both iPhoto and Photos need the library on a disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Yes, NTFS is not supported.
