ipad mini does not sync to iMessage

I recently purchased an iPad Mini. For whatever reason by iMessages are no longer syncing between my iPhone 5s, iMac and Mini. I checked my iCloud acct on my iMac and confirmed my phone # is associated; however, when I check under 'Settings', 'Messages' my phone number is not showing on my Mini (but it is on my iPhone). What else can I do?
