Thanks , can view my pictures off my external drive , but when i make changes , unable to save , message comes up on screen read access only.
Try doing a Get Info (command - I) on the drive. Unlock the padlock. If there is an Ignore ownership option, check that. Otherwise give yourself read/write permissions. At the gear on the bottom, click Apply to enclosed items.
