A photo of me appears in a circle on the upper right of emails I send. It appears where there is usually an initial. How can I either change or delete the photo?

I am using a Mac Book Pro with a Yosemite 10.10.3 operating system.

A photo of me appears in a circle in the upper right of my emails. I have no idea how it got there. Is there anyone who can tell me how to delete and/or change it.

We don't respond to email addresses, and you should not include yours here as this is a public forum.

That photo has always appeared as long as you have included it in your Contacts on your default "me" card. It is not sent to the recipient.
