Why are not all users shown on login screen on os x yosemite?

Hi to everyone,

In total I have 3 accounts on my MacBook Pro: one administrator account (mine), my girlfriends (which is not an administrator) and one guest account. When I turn on my computer, on login screen, I can see only my account and the guest user's account.

Has anybody any idea what I am doing wrong? Basically I can switch to my girlfriends account after I login to my account (top right on the screen when I click on my name, under mine I can see the other account) but not from the beginning.

Any help is very much appreciated!!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

If you've activated FileVault, only the users that were authorized to unlock the startup volume will appear in the pre-startup authentication dialog. Once the system has started up, all users will appear in the login dialog.

To authorize more users after the volume has been encrypted, select the FileVault tab in the Security & Privacy preference pane. Click the lock icon in the lower left corner and authenticate to unlock the settings, if necessary. Click Enable Users...

You should only enable users whom you trust implicitly with all data on the system, not just their own data.

Hi, I am having the same problem. I have taken over a MacBook from my son. I have set myself up as a user but on login I can only see his account and guest.

I have to login as him and then change user to see my details.

If I try and enable users as suggested by Linc DavisI get a message "some users weren't added - the following users weren't allowed to unlock this disk because an unknown error occurred: David."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

David
