Annoying login

Yosemite 10.10.1. MacBook Pro 2.4ghz Intel Core i5.

The first time that I try to login some of the characters I type do not appear. The login is unsuccessful the first time, then all of the characters work the second time. Not earth shattering, but goofy. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
