I pre ordered an album from iTunes but a previously purchased song didn't merg with the album

Hello. I recently pre ordered an album which has 3 songs ready for download immediately. I purchased one of those songs previously as a single and downloaded it before the album was available for preorder. What happend is after I successfully completed the preorder, two songs where downloaded but the third one didn't merg with them and is still shown as a single song in a single album. When I go to the album in iTunes store I see that single song in the album list and it has the "purchased" label. I tried deleting it and downloading it again but it's still seperated from the songs in the album.

How can I possibly solve this problem?

The album is Pharmacy by Galantis. The song that is seperated is Runaway (U & I), It has the album name "Runaway (U & I) - Single" and it did not auto download like the other two songs. What made it confusing is that I also bought Gold Dust, which is also a song in the album, and it didn't have the same issue. I now have all the songs in the Pharmacy album except for Runaway (U & I).

How did you redownload the track, as the single that you originally bought , or as the track from the album ?

If you redownload the track, and if doesn't go into the album, you can then select/highlight it in My Music part of your computer's iTunes library and do 'get-info' (command-I on a Mac, control-I on a PC) and change its properties (e.g. album name, album artist) so that it matches the rest of the album.

I redownload the track as the single. I couldn't find the track from the album in my purchased list, it's just not there. However, I found the other two songs.

Is there supposed to be two tracks in my purchased list? One as a single and another from the Pharmacy album?

If this is the situation then there is a missing purchase.

It possibly depends upon how the record company has put in the store, and whether you've hidden one of them : Hide and unhide purchases in the iTunes Store - Apple Support

You are viewing the Songs and Not In My Library listing in the Purchased section ? Or if you go into Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) and on the Store tab tick the 'show iTunes in the cloud purchases', does the album version of the track show in the My Music section of your library with a cloud icon against it for downloading ?

I double checked my purchased list in the iTunes Store itself and couldn't find Runaway (U & I) from the Pharmacy album, only the one from the single album. I even checked from my iPhone in the iTunes Store app.

And you checked to see if it's hidden ? It's possible that it's the same track that it's in the store, in which case use your computer's iTunes to edit the track's properties so that it matches the rest of the album

I checked and followed your instructions to see if the song is hidden. What I found is not a cloud icon. It is a price tag.

When I double click the song, the 1:30 demo plays. But when I select "Show in iTunes Store" from the drop down menu It is labeled as "Purchased" as you can see from the following screenshot:

What do I have to do to solve this? Is there a way to get direct support from Apple regarding this problem? Normally I should have all the tracks including Runaway (U & I) in the album all with a cloud icon for me to download, right?

The 'Purchased' implies that it has been purchased by you, and it shouldn't then show with the price button in My Music, it should have the cloud icon. You can try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
