I have several clips in the iMovie theater that I want to put into a project or event. How do I do it?
iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9)
Theater is for finished movie projects. Do you not have the clips in the event that was used to create the movie?

the clips are in my iPhone where they were originally recorded. I want to finish them on my iMac and apple tech support said the best way was to put them in iMovie theater and then open them on the iMac. Unfortunately the only way to get them from iMovie theater on the iMac to the project pane is to copy them onto desktop and then import them back in. That seems incredibly bizarre and poorly designed. I find it hard to believe that there's no better solution. There seems to be a LOT of confusion, even at apple tech support about, regarding this issue. I spent hours with Tech support yesterday being shuffled between departments and managers and that was the solution i wound up with.

describes how to transfer directly from iPhone. (I don't own an iPhone or iPad so I have not tried doing it myself).
