Why did my Microsoft Entourage app suddenly stop working?

I needed to access an email in my locally supported email address but cannot get the Microsoft Entourage app to open. I am using the OS X version 10.9.5. Five days ago I was in the app and forwarded two emails and save the two emails into a folder. Today I cannot get the app to open.
