In the usual way.
More information would be helpful such as what the sound problems are and the EXACT model/year of your MBP.
Ciao.
I too have this problem on my wife's macbookpro. Just upgraded to 10.10.3 and the built in speakers are no longer recognized. Plugging in head phones works... connecting bluetooth headphones work but when going into preferences, sounds, the built in speakers aren't an option for output. Just Digital output which isn't adjustable. Any suggestions?
thanks!!

HI
my sound is still not working
Plugging in head phones works... connecting bluetooth headphones work but when going into preferences, sounds, the built in speakers aren't an option for output. Just Digital output which isn't adjustable. there is at times a red light in the audio outport and other times no light .
I tried the SMC and the NVRAM reset but that did not help Can you help me restore sound without using headphones?
Try these steps:
Insert an earphone jack several times into the audio output port.
Blow real hard into the audio output port.
Wiggle a cocktail stirrer or toothpick in the audio output port.
Ciao.
The cocktail stirrer worked
Is there something going on with the output that I should take to repair service?
Thank you for your replyI
The internal switch was stuck. It is not worth taking the MBP in for service since you now know how to deal with the problem.
Ciao.
Yes, I am having these exact issues. Red light in audio port. Headphones work. Speaker icon grayed out. No speaker options in preferences. Only digital output. Apple has jacked up on the update. I am running 10.10.4.
