Battery has been draining faster than usual lately, I haven't been using it much at all. What should I do?

My Ipod Touch 4th generation has been having problems with the battery these last few days. The battery has been draining faster than usual and I haven't been using it much at all. I now have to recharge it every couple of days when it used to be that I could charge it once a week or so. All the apps seem to work just fine and I can turn it off and on. It's just something going on with the battery. I have no idea what could be draining the battery so fast. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That is not bad battery life at all.

Did you purchase it as new/new battery?

You can try:

- Turing off wifi and bluetooth when not using them especially overnight.

- Turning off notifications and set Mail preferences to only look for new mail when you open the Mail app

You can also try

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
