How can i reset an ipad that isn't locked but has an icloud account linked to it?

I bought an ipad 4th gen off craigslist and it worked fine and didnt have the activation lock on it, so i bought it. When i got home and started messing with it though, i figured out i need the password for the icloud account to reset. Is there any way i can reset it? The guy who sold it to me didnt know the password. i already tried that.

It is Activation Locked. That is what happens when a device is Activation Locked. Everything is fine until you try to reset it, then you have to supply the iCloud Activation Lock password:


ACTIVATION LOCK


The only way to do that is by following the instructions in this link:
