OSx Yosemite Recovery Upgrade

Prior to installing this upgrade on the 14 April 2015 the apple logo appeared immediately on my MAC Book Air now it takes some 30seconds or so to appear. Why is this? is it due to background updates or a bug in the upgrade.

Once the Apple logo appears it runs quickly as before?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
