macbook iphoto problem? help!

So i just synced 700+ photos and videos to my macbook pro from my iPhone 5c and everything appeared to have synced so I took my phone out and then deleted them. I also deleted them from the recently deleted file on my phone because i wanted more room. I went back to my laptop to look at the photos and they werent there and there is no trace of them. i looked in every event folder and recently imported and there is nothing there. is there any way to get them back from either iphoto or my phone???
