After updating to FCP 10.2 during playback the playhead turns red, but does not move until playback stops, at which time it jumps to where playback stopped in the timeline. (OS X 10.10.3) This is pretty frustrating. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for getting back with me. It's a mid 2011 Macbook Air., 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB RAM. It happens in the simplest of projects. Even with a single 10 second 1080p clip. It's running on the onboard SSD.
You really need to give complete and exact details of the media specs and the project properties. Have you tried trashing prefs and rebooting? Anything else not working right? Slow response? Spinning beachballs?
I had not tried trashing preferences. It worked! Thanks! I'm somewhat new to FCP, and I just learned something.
