podcasts won't play in iTunes latest version 64bit on windows 7 64bit OS - with an error message "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."

i found apple support pages - podcasts can be played by running them in 32bit ("This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes.") - but this has not been explained for windows users



please tell me how to run it in 32 bit in windows 7

The current (nearly) all 64-bit version of iTunes doesn't integrate with QuickTime. If you have content that needs QuickTime on your system then uninstall iTunes and all supporting components, then install the version of iTunes found here: iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) and reinstall QuickTime. The "for older video cards" release is a 64-bit installer for the core 32-bit iTunes application, similar to all 64-bit releases of iTunes prior to 12.1 and will work with QuickTime.


Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
