Reset Apple ID

My Apple ID is associated with an address no longer in use. When I request a reset email to be sent to my current active address I get a message saying that address already has an ID. When I attempt to reset by requesting an email I receive nothing at my active email address. (Nothing in spam folder either). Thanks.

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
