Too many PCI cards?

Hello

On my Mac Pro 2010 I have three PCI slots that are being used.

GTX 680 graphic card, USB3 card and a PCIe Sata III card with a SSD mounted on it.

My question is. Am I over loading my Mac with so many cards?

I have two USB3 external drives connected to the USB3 PCI card and also trying to decide weather if it is a good idea to have my boot system using the ssd on the PCIe card or leaving it under the optical bay.

Apologize for making this a two questions topic.

Thanks

No. PCIe slots are to be used, not left empty.

I prefer the OEM Apple/Samsung blade + adapter - or XP941 from Samsung instead of SATA III.

The make and model of the cards or controllers is vital of course, not just the "type."

That isn't to say that sometimes when using a PC GTX 9xx/7xx or something and other controllers that mix and match and which slot each uses can require some ingenuty.
