hope can i copy an iMovie project to another computer

I have an iMovie project on an external hard drive. How can I copy (not move) it to my computer, my iMac -- running 10.9.5?

In iMovie 10, File - Open Library - Other and navigate to the library on the external drive. Create a new library on your computer then copy the events to it from the library on the external drive. For more details see: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0/#mov3fa25bae7

Caution: If the library on the external drive was created with a later version of iMovie than the one you have on your machine you may not be able to open it or projects on it unless you update iMovie to the same or later version. Versions later than 10.0.5 require OS 10.10 (Yosemite)
