Q: Apple Watch to bluetooth Powerbeats2 headphones repeatedly loosing connection

I have a 38mm sport watch.  Started with the Jaybirds Bluebuds X bluetooth headset.  Kept dropping the connection while working out.  I took them back to store and got the Powerbeats2 thinking they would have been tested more thoroughly.  Listening to them during a workout and they have dropped the connection about 8 times.  I hear the audible alert telling me the bluetooth connection is dropping.  This is a playlist stored locally on the watch.

Anyone have success using Powerbeats2 with the Apple Watch?  If so can you share how you set it up?

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat.  Using the watch without the phone. Playing music while using workout app.  Dropped connection over 15 times in 45 minutes.  Would drop, then reconnect.  Using Powerbeats2.   I hate to say it, but this is a total fail.

I have the exact same problem.  I am using the Jaybird Bluebuds X and they drop connection repeatedly.  This was probably the the features that I wanted the most, so I'm very disappointed.  This might be a reason for a return.

Edit:  Chat support said to do a hard reset by holding in the crown and the favorites button.  So far so good with the Bluebuds X.. They are playing longer for me than they had previously.

Same here.  I worked with Support a couple of days ago.  After repairing and restarting the Watch no more issues thus far.  Love the easy fixes!

i did have this problem because i would leave my phone in the locker and the connection would become intermittent with the watch, everytime i would reconnect to the phone with my watch it would affect the bluetooth connection to my wireless headset.  i have the 42mm.

i realized if i just turn off my phone when i leave it in the locker, (your not going to have connection the whole time you work out anyway) that my wireless headset would no longer disconnect while i was working out.   i have not reset my watch to accomplish this.

i have yet to leave my phone powered on in the gym anymore, does anyone leave the phone powered on in the locker, and reconnect to the watch intermittently while working out, and still keep a solid connection to your headset?

    thanks

Try switching blue tooth off on the iPhone while working out.  Something strange... even with iPhone in locker on another floor with bluetooth turned off, I still receive text massages... how?

    Hi

Although your query is on a related subject, it is different to the OP's question (which has already been answered / marked as solved). A different question should be asked in a new thread. If others later have the same query, this also makes it easier for them to find - hopefully along with an answer.

More information: Find answers and ask new questions

To answer your question: If your watch is within range of a (2.4GHz) Wi-Fi network that your iPhone has connected to before, but your iPhone and watch are not presently connected, the watch can connect to that network and you can still:

    - Send and receive messages using iMessage.

    - Send and receive Digital Touch messages.

    - Use Siri.

    - Make and receive phone calls if you have Wi-Fi calling enabled (depending on your carrier).

    I completely share your remarks!

Using the new BOSE Soundsport and a POLAR heart rate belt I thought to have recognized a link between my iPhone sending messages to my Apple Watch and loosing connection to both devices.

I leave my phone in the living room and do my workout in my private gym, where the connection between phone and watch usually does not work. Sometimes anyway a signal seems to make it through and when then messages are coming in the connection to the phone seems to kick out the other devices.

This is a very (!!!) poor performance for an iPhone 6s and an Apple Watch steel that together cost about $ 2.000.-!!!

(I will try to set my phone on flight mode for my next trial.)

Glad to hear the other answer, but I have a related answer that has worked well for me-- changing the wrist I wear the watch on when wearing bluetooth headphones.  When I wore the watch on my left wrist, I had frequent, intermittent drops.  When I moved the watch to my right wrist, the drops stopped entirely.  I believe the bluetooth reception of the headphones happens in the right earbud, so the signal does not have to go through my head or body part of the time, depending on where my wrist is.

    Hope this is helpful,
