Google Maps site & dropbox woes

I just replaced my 6 year old 13" MBP the other day with the newest model of the 13" rMBP. Every time I open the computer, Dropbox tells me it can't establish a secure internet connection, although the computer is connected to the same internet connection as it's always been.

Also, as a huge google maps user (on maps.google.com).... I experience tremendous lag, etc on the site. I almost want to even return the computer as a result (I'm huge maps geek and I use the site all the time). I'm sure there's a reason and solution...?
