iTunes (iMac) is not updating iPhone apps during synch

After i update the app's on my iMac, those updates are never applied to my iPhone. However, the synch executes with no errors, song's books, movies etc will synch it is simply the APPs that are not updated. Only way I can update app's on my iPhone is by launching updates from the iPhone via my wifi connection.

The iPhone was originally setup and connecting to a Windows desktop which was retired when i converted the household to all iMac's :-)

I followed instructions found here on this forum to migrate/synch my iPhone to my new iMac. Since that time, this issue has been around.

I have backed up then restored from iMac....but no success. As i mentioned, i get updated via wifi connection on phone, i keep the apps on iMac up to date, but those app's never are synch'd down to iPhone.
