How do I create an MDM certificate?

We are working on a BYOD concept and MDM looks like a good solution. I guess I don't understand how to create the MDM certificate using the portal at https://identity.apple.com/pushcert/

What kind of certificate do I need to upload here? Is this the certificate from my server that I will use to implement the MDM solution? I have tried several certificates from my server but it keeps giving me an error.
