I just upgraded to Snow Leopard but I cannot find the App Store Icon or the Launchpad Icon, what do I need to do?

iMac (20-inch Early 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

The install disk installs 10.6.3; to see the App Store you need to apply the 'combo updater' to bring you to 10.6.8:
