Can anyone speak to why Apple will not allow iPhones to connect to Bluetooth enabled OBD-II readers for car diagnostics?

Hi! I have been reading up on Bluetooth OBD-II readers that plug into the onboard diagnostic port of your car and connect to apps like Torque. However, the readers cannot connect to iStuff (iPhones, etc.) because Apple apparently does not support the necessary Bluetooth profile to enable this kind of connection. Does anyone know why? And, is there anyway we could change that? All Android phones connect no problem. Thanks!

iPhone 6, iOS 8.3

Apple doesn't share this information with us nor can we speculate about it.
