I'm having trouble with installing Adobe Flash Player

everything I using on the web tells me I need the update for Adobe Flash Player-birthday cad sites and such... So I install it but instead of just finishing step 3 - install complete - I get an advertisement for an additional application for $9.99 a month - which I have no need for so I just close that tab window.... I've tried restart, shut down, and a few other things but to no avail.... go to the site I want to send from and I get the same update message - but no viewing of the card or product I 'm looking for.... anyone know what I need to do?

I've search it out through Finder and it is in there in applications all of them (apps) from 2007 to 2015 - something isn't right.... right?

can you guys help? thanks, ohyes

You might think about upgrading your OS X at least to Snow Leopard and finding the appropriate version of Flash that is compatible with it. Meanwhile, uninstall Flash: Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS.

The big Step 1 button that says Install doesn't install anything. It downloads the installer to your Mac. Note that Step 2 tells you what to do next:

To proceed, open your download folder and locate the Adobe Flash Player Installer file, named like "AdobeFlashPlayer[xxx]_install.dmg”.

The file you'll find there should be named:

AdobeFlashPlayer_17_ta_install.dmg

Double click the .dmg file to open it. You'll see this:

User uploaded file

Click the "Install Adobe Flash Player" package. When the installation is done, you can close this window and dismount the .dmg file by putting the "drive" icon that appeared on the desktop in the trash. You can then delete the .dmg file as you no longer need it.

The Step 3 Adobe shows is completely pointless.

sorry I wasn't clearer about the situation... which led you to your answer - I'm running on OS X Yosemite V.10.10.3, and I'm fully aware of the steps to downloads and installs - the answer needed was to go into browser preferences and "allow plugs ins"

ADMITTING I was not clear about the problem I was happening... your answer was assuming I was not computer savvy of somewhat dumb - that's really not a helpful attitude, and somewhat insulting. Sorry Mr. Lang, but I had to say this.... so I will apologize for the assumption of "dumb" on your part and thank you for your reply anyway.

Bye now have a good day. Ohyes

your answer was assuming I was not computer savvy or somewhat dumb

What led you to that conclusion?

I don't know about you, but I flunked Mind Reading 101. Since there is no way beforehand to know another person's skills, as in one to whom you've never spoken to before, it's typically best to be verbose rather than assuming truncated instructions will suffice. Most of the time when you attempt the latter, you are then asked for more complete instructions.

In the future, try not to assume what other people are thinking.

Sorry for mixing my experience with Adobe Flash Player...

My Snow Leopard OSX has been downloading and updating Adobe Flash Player without no problems. However, the last update automatically downloaded on 20th May 2015 (*.dmg) stops with an very long error message that is also automatically sent to Apple. No answer for the moment.

This is a copy of the first and last lines shown by the error message when you open the installer:
