Incorrect Parameter Error

I recently had a hard drive failure and lost my itunes and music stored on the old drive. I've tried following the instructions posted to copy files from my IPOD. When I try to drag the MUSIC folder from the IPOD hard drive to my desktop, I get an "incorrect parameter" error message that won't let me copy anything to my hard drive and then to itunes. I also tried importing the files individually in itunes, but that only worked for 4 songs. On top of this problem, I think my IPOD is about to die and won't be around much longer for me to retrieve the music on it. Any help is MUCH appreciated!

Does anyone have a solution to this problem. I recently also got an Incorrect parameter error when attempting to copy music off my ipod to a desktop music folder. About half way thorugh the manual transfer of the iPod's music folder, I get the following error:
....Cannot copy FILE:The parameter is incorrect. The entire transfer of the music folder aborts.

Any ideas??
