are Jaybird Bluebuds X compatible with the apple watch?

Yes - well sort of. (Only played with them for a few minutes - might investigate it again.)

(1) First issue was the only way I could get the Bluebuds to pair with the Watch was to tell my iPhone 6, which was laying near by and the last device that the Bluebuds had paired with, to forget the device. Otherwise I could not get the Bluebuds to connect to the Watch.

(2) After finally getting them paired, I tapped Play on the Music app in Glances and the music played out of the iPhone speaker. (Now, this might be because I did not bother syncing any music to the Watch and had the Watch set to see/control music actually on the iPhone.)

So yes, it is possible. But unless I am doing something wrong or missed a setting (very possible with such a new device), to me it is not worth the effort as I generally exercise with the iPhone in my pocket and just leave the Bluebuds paired with it. Might try again - just out of curiosity.

All you have to do is once the Bluebuds are paired is in the apple watch's music app firmly press to get another menu and select source, you'll see your headphones and simple select them. If you have a playlist installed you won't need your phone at gym or on a run...perfect!

Yes , I pair it with the watch and it works fine for me too but I cannot hear anything on my Jaybird BlueBuds X whenever I make or receive phone calls . Can someone tell me what is the correct way to set it up ?

To make and receive phone calls you will have to pair with the iPhone, you cannot do so paired with the Watch.
