For me, searching doesn't work. No matter what terms I use, no results are returned. I even typed in the exact title of a posting that I could see and was still told that nothing matched. Also, each search takes a fair amount of time. Is this working for others?
I think you'll find that searching Google for results on this site works better than the search function here. This has been true for years, and most people I know here do use Google to look for results, although there may be a lag on newer posts if the bots haven't made their way though here over a few hours.
I do find that search here can be made to work, but it can often take several attempts with the same search query to get relevant results, particularly if looking for more recent threads. It may also be useful to scroll down and change the options so that more recent threads are shown first, and the results are not limited to answered questions.

I use Google *Site* search exclusively (with a couple of exceptions as noted by tt2) - here's my bookmarks - just change the terms before 'site:'
search site:support.apple.com - Google Search > searches "troubleshooting" like documents
search site:discussions.apple.com - Google Search > searches these forums - mostly when an issue is new or not likely to have rated Apple's attention
help site:help.apple.com - Google Search > just what it says - Help Files & User manuals
Apple - Support - Search the Knowledge Base > this is internal, but also has active suggestions of Apple only topics
Apple Support Search Tips > Apple knows you need the help
My personal favorite > Let me google that for you (remember, you can always add the 'site search syntax' to any Google search field - works on any site anywhere)
Almost forgot... I have also found hidden nuggets *inside* User Guide's Search function - here's a snapshot of WATCH searching
Just remember Google has a corporate agenda. They want you to search, but they don't want you to ever find. Lately, I have found it necessary to put just about every word in quotes. I might write an extension someday that does that for me.

Did you make a typo, substituting "Google" for "Apple"? - just kidding - but the analysis seems apt either way.
With regard to "not finding" - I guess I don't know what I'm missing if searches fail to be fruitful. I will keep your advice in mind when goggling in future.
