Error code No. 6

I'm using a LaCie d2; burning a simple NTSC project and got an error code 6:

"The recording device reported the error #6: power on, reset or bus device reset occured (0x29, 0x00)"

I managed to burn the disc after rebooting the computer and clicking build & format and tossing the already created folders and using the internal burner. Is this an issue specific to the LaCie component?

G5 Dual 2.0 (w/3GB ram) & Klipsch GMX D-5.1 speakers, G4 933 MHz, PwrBk 1.5 Ghz, Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I am having the exact same problems using the same LaCie DVD-/+ RW drive and using DVD Studio Pro Version 4 receiving the following error:

"The recording device reported the error #6: Power on, reset, or bus device reset occurred. (0x29, 0x00.)"

The only way I am able to write my project onto DVD media is by using build/format and even then I get errors at the end of the process. Then I can't read the disk within the LaCie drive or my PowerBook or MacBook Pro drives, but I can view the burned DVD by using my standard DVD players...

In my humble opinion, this drive is simply a mess and not in any way shape or form 100% compatible with Apple products.

If anyone out there has suggestions please post them here.
