Q: No reminders app on the watch?

I do understand that the watch will pop up any reminders that have a time/date/location set on them.  And I understand that you can add a reminder using siri on the watch.  However, the fact that you can't view your reminders on the watch seems like a big oversight on apple's part.  I use the reminders app for a lot of things, including shopping lists.  It would be quite useful to be able to check off items from the Reminder's app right on your watch.

I suppose I could use a different app, anyone know of a good list/reminder app that works on the Apple Watch?

totally agree, but as I am currently happy with Reminders on my iPhone, I don't really want to set up another to do list app.

I use Apple reminders multiple times a day - for grocery items, Costco items, errands, travel etc. In fact, I have them set to share with my spouse and it works brilliantly in getting everything done.

I was upset to see that Apple included every other app for the watch, but not that one.  I am not interested in a substitute.  I liked that we could sync our reminders across all devices and I liked its ease of use for multiple topic reminders. I thought it was the perfect app for a quick glance.

I hope Apple listens and updates to include Reminders!!!

The omission of a reminders app on the AW is really unbelievable. One of the most obvious advantages of an AW over pulling out your iPhone, unlocking it, and going through the laborious Siri/iPhone dialog to add a simple reminder, is the AW's immediacy, similar to a dedicated digital recorder. But then you have to remember to go to another device to see these reminders. Crazy.

Again, the wrong venue to voice your opinion. Use the feedback link I provided above if you wish for Apple to hear your thoughts.

I thought the same at the beginning, but actually both Clear and Wunderlist let you add tasks on the Watch! Just Force Touch, and the option comes up. I do prefer Things, though.

But to my knowledge and experience, Up Next does not give a Reminder notification on AW.

I think it does if you put in a specific date and time.

I want to be able to say, "hey Siri, reminding me tomorrow at 10 AM to call John." It will not work doing it that way

Full Disclosure: I'm the developer of Up Next

I use "Hey Siri reminds me to _____ at ___am/pm" frequently  and I always get notifications from Up Next on my Apple Watch.  Updates from Siri to Up Next do happen in the background (OS timed intervals) so if the reminder is within 15 - 20 min it might not alert from Up Next. I'm not sure if there is a way around this. Every time I've done it for something of 30 min though, I get the alert.

Up Next does in fact issue a Reminder notification on AW. I created a reminder on iPhone and it worked. Then I created one just using AW and it worked, too. iPhone can't be open at the notification time.

The watch gives Apple Reminders at the specified time. Whether I say "Remind at 10 am tomorrow to call John" or "Remind me in two minutes to call John," the watch functions just fine -- I get a notification of my Apple Reminder. I don't need Up Next to do it. This was not why I needed and am currently using Up Next. I'm using that app because it's impossible to access the lists of Apple Reminders, which I use as my Grocery and To Do lists. Up Next syncs with the Apple Reminders lists and seems to function well. I can tell Siri to add an item to my Grocery list, and it will show up in Up Next when I open it on my watch.( I'm not sure, but you might have to have Up Next running in the background on your phone for the update to work.)...If you aren't getting an Apple Reminder notification on your watch, your phone might have been on at the time.

    Hi all,

here is my problem. Please read carefully and understand that you have tried all the usual fixes and I am somewhat of an Apple Watch/Reninders power user:

    Here is my problem.

    Example:

I tell Apple Watch to remind me to deposit checks in one hour. Siri confirms reminder is made. I check reminders app and I do not see the reminder in any of my lists.

One hour later a reminder notification occurs on Apple Watch. No reminder on iPhone. I check Reminders again, no reminder related to this event.

How is this happening? If all reminders are located in the iPhone app and the watch just creates, and notifies, how can there be a reminders database that I cannot see.

It has been doing this for the past 3 days. Reminder creation on AW is one of my favorite things. How can this be broken like this. I've restarted both AW and iPhone, uninstalled Fantastical 2 on AW. No luck.

Any ideas or suggestions? Anyone else having this problem?
