My iMessage keeps telling me that it's waiting for activation. When I try to use my Apple ID it will show my email address and my phone number except my phone number is checked and in gray. I don't know what to do! I have tried everything and I'm just getting frustrated. I tried going to my provider and they literally told me to deal with it as they don't know how to fix it. You guys are my last hope 😟

When you turn on iMessage using your iPhone's phone number, a silent SMS is sent to your provider (cellular), and then they respond to it, essentially verifying that the phone number is correct. If iMessage is not activating, you need to make sure that your account is properly set up for SMS messages. If your carrier is not being helpful, you can try calling Applecare, and work with them. They may charge you the pay per incident fee if you do not have Apple Care + or are outside the 90 day complementary support window.
