random podcast downloads

The podcast app keeps trying to download the same random podcast every time I try to open it. I never subscribed to these podcast and yet it keeps downloading them. For some reason, a lot of them are religious or video game podcasts. Although I do listen to some video game pod casts, I never even heard of some of these. Is there anyway for me to have it permanently stop downloading them? I have turned off auto syncing and auto-downloading. I have even deleted and re-installed the app but that didn't work either.
