question about photo books in aperture.

as we all know aperture is orphaned. I am building a family history picture book in aperture. and am wondering if it is a mistake? Its takijg a lot of time and by the time I get it finished I am afraid I will upgrading to a system version that aperture doesn't work on.

Pages doesn't have anything I understand. The new photo app won't be compatible i am guessing. I don't think I w3ant to convert to Lightroom yet but that may be the way to go.

should I convert now to ? or tough it out. It will probably be a couple of years before I get all the family input and pictures.
