I am trying to create an app shortcut for Adobe Lightroom. I understand how to go about creating a new app shortcut in the Shortcuts area of the Keyboard in Preferences, but what I don't know is how to type the sub menu. The Menu Item I am trying to get to is:
File>Plug-in Extras>Export to Photomatix Pro...
I have everything spelled right including ellipses. Am I using the right symbol > to designate a submenu?

Are you on 10.4? You may want to edit your profile if that is incorrect.
I find that just the final submenu text works on 10.9, there seems to be no need for the other items. I tested in Safari.
Apple's help doesn't mention that so I may be wrong…

And just to be sure, the ellipse is Option-Semi-colon … and not 3 periods ...

and used the ellipses as recommend. Regrettably that didn't work.
Thanks for your help everyone. I tried another sub menu command and it worked as you suggested, just putting in the last sub menu item. No need to type in the whole list of menu items. Must be a weird quirk with that one Photomatix command, I guess.
