Q: photo library
Can I delete the old iPhoto library after I installed the new Photos application and get a a new library for the application Photos?
The old library occupy 50+G of my drive. It seems not useful any more.

Up to you - you can safely - BUT - if you do it is hard to get it back and you might want it
And deleting it will not save very much space at all - see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204476
My suggestion is to keep it for a while
