How do I set up Birtday Alerts on Apple Watch?

i Have the Birtday Alerts on my Calendar on iPhone and have selected 'Mirror iPhone' on the watch app for calendar entries but don't see any upcoming alerts on the watch, only on the iPhone calendar. Is there a way to see birthday alerts on my watch?

Apple Watch, iOS 8.3

I actually figured out my issue yesterday - for some reason when you have an event set up as "all day" it won't show it in glances for some reason. So I manually set what I needed to run from 6AM to 11:59PM and they worked just fine. I have no idea... and this might be an issue of pure ignorance on my part because I never really messed with calendar stuff until fairly recently.

But yeah, hopefully you can get your issue resolved today!

Hmm. I just tested (by creating a fake birthday event for a contact. The birthday showed up in Calendar on the Watch.

Check the Watch app on the phone to make sure you have Calendar settings right. I use Mirror Phone, but obviously you need to have birthday alerts on on the phone.

If that doesn't help, I suggest a Watch reset. Restart the phone and re-pair them. That might kick it into action

That is the settings I have. I have done a reset also but no joy. I may have to drop in to my local Apple Store tomorrow and ask them. It wouldn't be anything to do with the fact that on my phone>calendar app>calendars it shows the Birthdays as 'OTHER' and not in the ICLOUD heading? How do I put the birthdays in the iCloud? Maybe that's the reason?

There is clearly an issue with the 'mirror iPhone' functionality on the watch as I can see all events and birthdays on the iPhone but not everything on the watch. I don't have any issues with the events in glances, just the birthday calendar.

In the calendar option on the watch app on the phone i have the 'Show in Glances' slider bar to ON (showing green) and I have 'Mirror my iPhone' ticked. I also have the 'Mirror my iPhone' ticked on the 'Contacts" option. In the 'Glances' menu I have Calendar included in Glances and in Notifications I have the Notification Indicator slide bar also on (showing green) with the calendar option for 'Mirror my iPhone' checked.

I have done a reset and fiddled about with this for ages now and I still don't get the Birthdays showing in Calendar on the watch.

I am going to the Apple store today so will report back if I find anything out!

Apple store had no appointments to see a techy until next Wednesda and suggested I call Apple Care which would be free as it was a new product. I haven't done this yet but I'm wondering if my birthdays issue is somehow related because birthdays do show as all day events. I shall have a further play with it and call Apple Care if I have no luck! Thanks!

It's not so much the notification alert. Birthdays aren't showing as events in the calendar on the watch full stop! I have, however, identified a potential problem: If I try and make a new calendar entry on my phone, once I click 'Add', it doesn't show either but does appear on the iPad and the Mac?!

I am trying a backup and hard reset of the phone.....TO BE CONTINUED.......!

I don't know if this is going to help or not ...

On my phone all is set to Custom and at first I couldn't see Birthdays either on my watch .

After three ( Yes, 3 ) resets as a new watch , Birthdays now show up in the watch calendar app . Don't ask me why , I have no idea ....

After that I talked to  Care and the senior advisor I talked to could not comment on this issue but took note .

The next birthday in my calendar is on the 6th so in a couple of days I'll see if it shows up in Glances .
