Q: Can I get ARD to automatically add Macs to the main Computer List?

Active Directory connected, no Open Directory.

I would like to manage Macs that have been imaged by our technicians on our network.

ARD seems to be a fairly good tool to do this. I can use the scanner to find computers (on our vast class B subnet), and drag and drop them into the All Computers list. That's great! ... Except we have ~5000 computers on our network across ~250 subnets, and imaging/re-imaging throughout the year.

It's an extra overhead to have to log into ARD and manually move a computer to the All Computer list, when all other processes are automated.

Is there any way to automate the addition of computers to the All Computers list?

I'm willing to accept any possibilities, although recording button clicks through Automator is not what I want to be running on a server...
