Q: Unable to Download Yosemite as it requests password of somebody else's Apple ID
Hello all
I'm setting up a Mac Mini that we use at work for a new user and the first thing I want to do is download Yosemite.
In App Store I get the option to download Yosemite, but it then asks for the password of the Apple ID of an ex-employee.
I understand that I cannot get updates for any apps belonging to that user, as they're tied to that Apple ID. However, Yosemite is a new download, not an update to an existing app that she would have downloaded previously. Further, I don't see how her Apple ID could be linked to the existing OS (OS X 10.9.5), as I set the Mac Mini up in the first place, Mavericks was pre-installed and has not since been rebuilt.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue, other than a complete rebuild (I'd like to avoid formatting and reinstalling the OS if I can) ? Thanks in advance,
Darren
