I received the following on an email purporting to be from a good friend. The email address was NOT his normal address but included his surname which is not spelt in the normal way. Is this an attack? - http://www.destinoelexito.es/previous.php?interest=v7enz2qk55zhufp

It was allegedly "sent from his iPhone" and an attempt to reply to the email address bounced.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Somebody may have hacked his e-mail address or your e-mail address. If the friend uses the same password for most things this is extremely foolish and opens them up to all types of security issues including identity theft, credit cards being compromised etc.

Do not attempt to respond or click on any links in a questionable email...send a clean email to your friend at a known email address and alert him to this email. Then both you you should change your passwords on your accounts, at a minimum, and monitor your email activity.
