Q: How to restore disk to unique partition from terminal?
Hi,
I have had a triple-boot for about a year (Mac Os X Lion, Win7, Ubuntu) but recently something wrong happened.
When trying to boot it as do normally and select the OS that i wanted i got a blinking question mark Folder instead.
I then tried to reinstall Mac Os from which i couldn't even boot (cmd + R)
the " Select the disk where you want to install Mac Os X" box was empty.
I then went to "Diskutility" but couldn't erase, verify or restore the Disk image or Startup Disk that are the only two icons to appear on the left-hand side.
In the "Partition" tab only one partition is visible, that of the Startup Disk "Mac OS Base System".
In Terminal,
diskutil list
/dev/disk0

0: Apple_partition_scheme *1.4 GB disk0
1: Apple_partition_map 30.7 KB disk0s1
2: Apple_Driver_ATAPI 2.0 KB disk0s2
3: Apple_HFS Mac OS X Base System 1.4 GB disk0s3
/dev/disk1

How can i restore my disk to a single OS X partition in terminal as diskutility won't let me do anything and wiping out the whole drive seems to be my only option to finally use my laptop? I have tried with no luck
Thank you
